Redmi Note 7 to get Super Night Scene camera mode with an upcoming software update

Highlights: Xiaomi will update its Redmi Note 7 smartphone with the Super Night Scene camera mode. The company also announced that next date when the phone will go on sale in China. The smartphone features a 48MP main rear camera.  Xiaomi recently announced the Redmi Note 7 in China and has also teased bringing the phone to India. The smartphone features a 48 MP main camera on the back and it will soon receive a Super Night Scene camera mode via a forthcoming software update. The feature was previously seen on the Mi Mix 3 smartphone and the company claims that the new mode will enable capturing brighter images in low-light conditions, on the Redmi Note 7. The Super Night Scene mode is already present for users of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and the Mi 8 and it’s now arriving for Redmi Note 7 users too. The news comes via the company’s official Weibo account where the company confirmed it will soon roll-out the new feature via a software update. Xiaomi also said that the next flash sale of the phone in China will be on January 25 at 10:00AM CST (7:30AM IST). The Super Night Scene is Xiaomi’s take on the Night Sight Mode and Night Mode on Google and OnePlus phones. The new mode captures several images with varying exposure values and combines them to create an image with less noise and is brighter.  Speaking of the Redmi Note 7, the smartphone was launched in China recently. It sports a 6.3-inch LCD panel that has a 2340x1080p resolution and is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC. In China, the Redmi Note 7 comes in 3GB, 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 32GB or 64GB storage options. Redmi could introduce the same configuration options in India as well. It is backed by a 4000mAh battery. Coming to the optics, the phone comes with a 48MP primary sensor, which is combined with a 5MP secondary sensor for enabling shooting portrait images. Developed by Samsung, the sensor has ultra-small 0.8um pixels, that together deliver a total of 48 MP in the sensor. Coming to the front camera, the phone has a 13MP camera on the front that has beautification and portrait mode.  In China, the Redmi Note 7 starts from 999 Yuan (Rs 10,000 approx) for the 3GB+32GB variant. The 4GB+64GB model of the phone is priced 1199 Yuan (Rs 12,000 approx ), while its 6GB+64GB variant retails for 1399 Yuan (Rs 14,500 approx). It remains to be seen whether the phones will be launched at similar prices when they come to India. Apart from the Redmi Note 7, the company may also launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Go in India.
