According to a report by Gizchina the device will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and a 4,000 mAh battery, which means that the battery is more than 20 percent larger than the 3,300mAh battery of the LG V40 ThinQ. Since 5G infrastructure will not be available in every market, this phone will be aimed at developed nations who will most likely be the early adopters of the technology. The report also says that the device will have a dedicated steam chamber that is said to be 2.7 times larger than the heat pipe of the LG V40 ThinQ. The tech will basically keep the high temperature posed by the use of 5G technology in check. Citing the company, the report also says that the USP of the phone will be its “multimedia capabilities”. In related news, LG is reported to launch a new type of phone that will give users an option to attach an extra display to the existing one. This handset is said to be one of the multiple phones that the company is reportedly planning to launch at the MWC in Barcelona next month. Recently, the company released a teaser confirming that it will launch the LG G8 ThinQ unveiled at MWC on February 24 at the company’s press conference. According to the LG G8 renders, the camera module on the back is placed horizontally in the centre. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back with LG branding at the bottom. On the front, a pair of cameras is seen, which could be the same as the one found on the V40 ThinQ. Codenamed 'Alpha', the device is likely to sport a 6.1-inch display with a conventional notch, delivering an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
