The Intel Xeon W-3175X is what you want if you’re looking for the Bugatti of computer processors. The 28-core, 56-thread unlocked processor has been listed online at a jaw-dropping $4,000 (Rs 2,85,260 approx) according to multiple sources, and is expected to launch sometime later this month. The Xeon W-3175X was announced by Intel in early October. According to TechSpot, the Intel Xeon W-3175X, unlocked and primed for overclocking, features a base clock speed of 3.1GHz but can speed up to 4.3GHz. There’s 38.5MB of Intel SmartCache memory and a total of 68 PCIe lanes available (that’s 44 lanes from the processor and 24 lanes from the chipset). For comparison, the typical Core i3 processor from Intel has 4MB of cache. There’s also support for a six-channel DDR4-2666 memory with a maximum capacity of 512GB. Asus ROG Dominus Extreme: the sort of motherboard new Xeon processor is said to require The Intel Xeon W-3175X has a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of 255W, which means it’ll need a cabinet with an effective cooling system, especially for overclocking. For comparison, the average Core i3 processor has a maximum TDP of 15W. According to sources online, the Xeon W-3175X will need a motherboard like the ROG Dominus Extreme to run at maximum capacity. The Intel Xeon W-3175X has been listed on at least four online European retail sites like Edis Computers, Lacne-Nakupy, Kikatek and PC21. On all of them, the massive CPU that takes on the AMD Threadripper 2990X has been listed at a price between $4,700 and $5,200 including VAT. The Intel Xeon W-3175X has been slated for a December launch and seems to be on schedule for now.
