The 40W SuperCharge technology that tops up the Huawei Mate 20 Pro to 70 percent in 30 minutes might be coming to a power bank near you, based on a new leak. According to a Tweet by ChargerLab, the fast charging protocol will be implemented in a power bank for the Mate 20 Pro and the Honor Magic 2. The power bank will also be backward compatible with 22.5W Super Charging for other Huawei phones. There’s no info on when the power bank will be launched or what the price will be. The company already has a couple of power banks that support different fast charging protocols. Huawei’s Super Charge protocol is TUF certified and delivers power through on a 40W adapter and can top up the 4200mAh in less than an hour. So far, Huawei is the only company that has been able to implement their proprietary fast charging protocol in a power bank. Other protocols like Dash Charge, VOOC charge and the likes haven’t been ported to a power bank despite a big public demand. Qualcomm’s Quick Charge too has been used in a range of power banks offered by various companies including the popular Mi Powerbank that comes in capacities up to 20000mAh.
